The little moments

This morning I had a moment.

It is the boy’s last day ever in Primary School and man was I excited….

‘eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! It’s your last ever day at primary school!!’ I squeaked while ignoring the grumpy mutterings coming from the bed, which I chose to ignore but think it was something along the lines of ‘is there coco pops?’

Eventually the mound of grumpy child managed to get up and after some initial shenanigans, we were ready to go, said goodbye to the still sleeping Dad, and out the door.

‘Now I just want to say I hope you have a brilliant day and you have an awesome time.. My big boy growing up…’

‘MOM!’ he quickly interrupted, if you are going to have a moment in public I’m walking away. Seriously now!’

I was about to say it is my right to have mother like moments wherever I fancy and by golly don’t you look so CUTE when you’re serious…. But I held it together.

I think he saw me struggling to keep my composure as he sighed, rolled his eyes, came in quickly for a squeeze and after quickly looking around, kissed my face and yelling ‘bye!’ promptly ran off to school.

I had a very good day today.
