AWESOME!

I am not usually into extreme sports of any nature or anything extreme in nature, so it has come as a surprise to me that I have become so hung up on this. But seriously – it was brilliant!

Initially I was a bit dubious about going for 3 primary reasons: 1) the queue was bound to be INSANE – I hate being on my feet for any length of time unless I am dancing 2) The wait between getting in and the start of the event was bound to be tedious and 3) all that dust! I could see myself sneezing and spluttering all the way through with the amount of dirt and dust flying around… oh the horror. To be clear, I was very excited to be going, and no matter what I would not let my little issues get in the way of what was sure to be a brilliant evening, and my boys were so very overexcited about the whole thing… more hyped up then they usually are.

So we arrived at Battersea Power Station and an hour before the gates opened, the crowds were gathered already (we lucked out and took a short cut we didn’t realise was a short cut and ended up almost right at the front of the crowd. This was what was behind us, and you can’t even really see the half of it..

So issue number 1 was sorted… bring on tedious waiting…

So wrong about that too! There were stalls and stuff going on, food, drinks and lots of give a ways. Plus Big Daddy booked grandstand seats meaning we could wander around at our leisure and just stroll to our seats when we were ready. Yes the standing tickets were less than half the price but who cares! Worth paying for if you ask me.

And how did I cope with my stupidly sensitive dust attracting nasal passages? If my nose was running it was not important, my burning eyes were irrelevant. The show was amazing, the riders on top form, the crowd was cool and of course who I was with just made it for me.

Awesome night out with an awesome family. Can’t wait for next year.
